Connect Google Calendar or Outlook
Connect your calendar and QuantiMeet stops offering times when you are busy, and puts every booking into your calendar.
BetaCalendar sync is in beta, for Google Calendar and Outlook.
Other calendar apps you may see listed, such as CalDAV and Apple iCloud, are not supported.
What sync does
- Each booking creates an event in your calendar, and cancelling the booking removes it.
- Busy time in your calendar blocks those times on your booking page. With Google Calendar, QuantiMeet only asks when you are busy: it never reads what your events say.
- The tokens we keep for a connection are encrypted with your team's own key.
Connect
- Signed in on your team's address, open
/apps/google-calendaror/apps/office365-calendarand select Install. - Sign in to Google or Outlook and approve what QuantiMeet asks for. You come back to your dashboard.
- Open
/apps/installed/calendar. Make sure the calendars that hold your busy time are checked for conflicts, and that Add events to names the calendar where new bookings should go. With none named there, bookings go to the first calendar you connected.
Google's "unverified app" screen
Google may show a screen headed "Google hasn't verified this app" before its consent screen. It appears because QuantiMeet's calendar access has not been through Google's verification yet. To continue, select Advanced, then the link that starts "Go to" and ends "(unsafe)". The consent screen then lists what QuantiMeet asks for: to see your calendars and edit their events, and your basic profile, which QuantiMeet uses only for your picture.
If your Google account belongs to an organization, its administrator can block apps like QuantiMeet. If Google says the app is blocked, ask them to allow it.
Outlook
Outlook's sign-in screen lists the access QuantiMeet asks for: your basic profile, and reading and writing your calendars. A personal Outlook.com account approves that itself. A work or school account belongs to an organization that decides which apps its people may connect, and QuantiMeet's publisher verification is not done yet, so you may see a warning or need your administrator's approval first.
Disconnect
On /apps/installed/calendar, select Remove. QuantiMeet deletes its copy of the calendar's access. For Google, we also cancel QuantiMeet's access with Google; if the same Google account is connected to two QuantiMeet teams, both lose it. For Outlook, we cannot cancel access from our side, so remove QuantiMeet in your account's app permissions as well: for a personal account, at account.live.com/consent/Manage.
